Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use Jogak:

  • Account information: Email address and password when you create an account.
  • Financial data: Transactions, account balances, budget categories, and goals you enter manually or import through connected bank accounts.
  • Bank connection data: When you connect a bank via Plaid, we receive account names, balances, and transaction history. We never see your bank login credentials.
  • Usage data: How you interact with the app, including pages visited and features used.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Jogak service.
  • Display your financial data, budgets, and analytics.
  • Sync and categorize transactions from connected bank accounts.
  • Send important account notifications (security alerts, service changes).
  • Respond to your support requests.

Third-Party Services (Plaid)

Jogak uses Plaid to connect your bank accounts. When you connect a bank:

  • Plaid securely handles your bank login — Jogak never sees your credentials.
  • We receive read-only access to account balances and transaction history.
  • You can disconnect your bank at any time from Settings.
  • Plaid's use of your data is governed by the Plaid Privacy Policy.

Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and sensitive credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. We use Supabase with Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure your data is only accessible to you. Two-factor authentication (MFA) is available for additional account protection.

Your Rights

  • Access: You can export all your data at any time from Settings.
  • Correction: You can edit your transactions, categories, and account details.
  • Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings.
  • Disconnect: You can disconnect bank connections at any time, which revokes our access.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your data — including transactions, budgets, categories, and bank connections — is permanently deleted. We do not retain backups of deleted user data.
